4 Annoying Things About 300 Rise Of An Empire

No.1 Fake CGI Blood

Many movies use CGI blood these days and although it does not look as good as using real blood squibs it has never really been an issue for me before such that I was consciously thinking about it. This time however the poor quality of the CGI blood was such that it stood out and detracted from the quality of the action scenes (especially during the opening scene when there was just so much of it). It is a pity really because many of the action scenes are done really well and better than the first movie.

No.2 The Voice Of The Female Narrator

I don't know who casted this lady as the queen of Sparta but her voice is probably the most annoying thing about the first movie and it continues to be the most annoying thing in the sequel. It might not have been so bad only that her character happens to be the narrator of the entire movie.

No.3 The Main Hero

Sullivan Stapleton plays the role of Themistocles, the main hero. While he is not bad he just does not have the presence of Gerard Butler (If anything one of his comrade felt more like a badass than him). Again his voice just lacks charismatic authority, he is not the narrator though so it is not so bad. It is just when he gave some of his big speeches it just does not quite have the desired impact.

No.4 The Ending

I am not going to spoil the ending here but lets just say why didn't they just do that from the beginning.
